Is copy and paste possible in Android 2.3 email?

A friend got an Android from AU yesterday, his first smart phone. It was my first time to use an Android, but conceptually it's similar to an iPhone so it was easy to use. The Android seems to have many more "fine tune" settings built-in.

Anyway, is there a way to do copy/paste in email? I couldn't figure out a way. On the iPhone you can just tap and resize the select box and then copy, etc.

I am using Cyanogenmod based on 2.3 and copy paste is definitely possible. In case of Android, you need to tap and hold for the text to get the options for copy, paste. But again, this is in AOSP based ROM. I guess it might also depend on the ROM that you are using.
