Just noticed something not picked up yet by many people.  If it isnt confusing enough, Softbank will actually have 3 different pricing plans for iPad data- not 2 as previously reported.

According to the Softbank press release, here are the 3 different plans.

1. 2 year contract all you can eat internet access for 2910 yen/month.

2. Prepaid 1GB monthly limit for 4410 yen/month and...

3. Prepaid 100MB plan for 1510 yen/month.

You can NOT choose plan 3 from the launch date.  Here is how it works.  First, you sign on to the prepaid 1GB plan, and that plan is actually all you can eat internet access until July 1 2010.  After that you have a cap of 1GB a month, and, you have a choice to either keep that rate OR drop down to the 100MB yen for 1510 yen/month plan.

Details in Japanese here...

Nice catch! Thanks. Have updated the post with your update.

Keep em coming!
Interesting point. It's good they're adding another pre-paid option. Still, that is more than 2.5 times the cost of the U.S. $15-for-250MB plan. 100MB is like nothing. I'm sure SoftBank realizes that.
